Jonah Chipeco Contemporary Artist with Vessels Collection

Jonah Chipeco: Contemporary Visual Artist

Jonah Chipeco is a contemporary Filipino artist whose work explores the interior life shaped by relationships and how connection reshapes one’s sense of self over time.

Art became her quiet place during seasons of transition. She has worked as a freelance writer for more than a decade and has published both business and creative works. Yet there were moments when language could not carry what she felt. Visual art became another voice.

Emotional Abstract Art Rooted in Personal Reflection

Her work leans toward emotional abstract art. She creates from lived experience, translating longing, restraint, growth, and quiet strength into visual form.

Some pieces feel deliberate. Others feel intuitive. Each collection holds space for the unseen negotiations within the self.

Interdisciplinary Visual Artist Guided by Concept

Jonah’s practice is interdisciplinary. She responds to what each body of work requires rather than committing to a single medium. Concept leads the material, not the other way around.

She has participated in workshops organized by the Ayala Museum, studying watercolor under Eileen Escueta and acrylic and pastel techniques under Mary Rose Gisbert. She also spent time in France learning from her aunt, Merle Elepaño, a Filipina-French artist and painter whose discipline influenced her respect for craft.

She hopes viewers encounter not only beauty in her work, but also the courage to recognize the parts of themselves that are still in progress.
