I did not notice how you sprouted from my ordinary routine

Until people began to appreciate the light that surrounded me.

You colored my world when you arrived.

You were delicate as a flower, yet fun and free.

Your laughter tickled my soul
And quieted my fear of a fleeting life.

Poetry inspiration was from a photograph from http://thelanternroom.wordpress.com/

You made me believe I am more than who I thought I was —
Able to withstand the heat,
To watch you shine
And dance with the wind.

I will remember your beauty in the night
And forever behold your light.
