Sunset beach view in Laiya, Batangas with calm sea, soft sand, and open sky, photographed by Jonah Chipeco in May 2012, paired with the poem “Waiting.”

Waiting for the sun to set before this picturesque view,

The sand, the sea, the sky — all perfect.
The only thing missing is you.

I would sail across to reach you on the other side,
If only you hadn’t asked me to wait.

Time flies, and with every passing hour
I anticipate what might be our fate.

But thank you for slowing me down
So I could see the bigger picture too —

The quiet beauty of this moment,
The serenity and peace
Of not having you.
