[Dark rooftop – Gotham skyline in the background. The wind is cold. Catwoman stands in the moonlight. Batman approaches quietly from behind.]
CATWOMAN
(half-smiling)
We’ve been here before, haven’t we?
Are you here to capture me again?
BATMAN
(stern but soft)
You always slip away. But you never run far.
CATWOMAN
(teasing)
I’m a thief, Bruce. I know how to escape.
But with you… I always get caught.
Not by force—by choice.
By feelings.
BATMAN
(silence)
CATWOMAN
(steps closer)
Tsk, tsk. Did you poison me this time?
So I wouldn’t fight back?
BATMAN
You were hurt. I had to slow you down. For your own good.
CATWOMAN
(whispers)
Is there still something in there… in your heart?
Anything left for me?
Or did Jezebel steal it all?
BATMAN
(slight flinch)
CATWOMAN
Was it her kiss?
The danger she brought?
More trouble than I ever gave?
(pause)
Doesn’t matter now… right?
[She steps even closer, placing a hand on his chest.]
CATWOMAN
You saved me.
That’s what matters.
And now… I can hold on to the memory—
That maybe, just maybe,
You remembered that kiss…
That night.
BATMAN
(speaks low)
I never forgot.
CATWOMAN
(smiles faintly)
You wanted to save Selina.
But if she was worth saving…
Why don’t you trust her with this mask?
BATMAN
You hide too much.
CATWOMAN
Maybe I do.
Maybe I need to show you more—
The truth.
The girl behind the mask.
So you’ll believe…
That one day,
We can break this spell.
And just be.
BATMAN
(still quiet)
CATWOMAN
If you won’t say anything…
If I’m talking too much again…
[She leans in, wraps her arms around him.]
CATWOMAN
Then just hold me.
And I’ll hush.
