The Girl In Your Present

While We’re Here, Right Now
While the past taught me and the future excites me,
it’s the present that holds my heart.
This letter isn’t about who we were or who we’ll become—
but who we are, right now.
And I love that version of us the most.
What Were You Thinking?
Do you remember that time we sat side by side,
and you were so quiet?
I asked, “What are you thinking?”
You said… nothing.
I still can’t believe it.
I wanted to plug a little translator into your head and read your silence like a book.
Because when I’m quiet,
there are a thousand words spinning in my head every second.
That Wink That Froze Me
Then there was your wink.
Out of nowhere, it caught me off guard—
awkward, surprising, and a little thrilling.
I liked it.
That playful confidence.
That teasing mystery.
You can wink at me like that again…
Just not when someone else is walking by!
When You Tried So Hard
I still remember when we started dating.
You messaged me every day—texts, Facebook, Skype.
You even called when I was too busy to talk.
What you didn’t know was…
I noticed everything.
I admired your persistence.
I tested your consistency.
I didn’t say much,
but I was listening.
Send me flowers? Maybe I’d say hi.
Pull back for a while? I might miss you more.
You Waited For Me
Thank you for waiting while I tried on shoes—
even when I took way too long.
I saw the boredom in your eyes,
but I also saw your patience.
Let’s trade next time.
Take me gadget shopping—
I’ll help you find the perfect watch or those Nikes you’ve been eyeing.
Just promise not to touch my makeup.
Deal?
The Secret to My Silence
Want to know how to make me stop talking?
Hold me.
Gently.
Randomly.
Wrap me in your arms,
not just while we cross the street—
but when you feel like I need it most.
That’s when I go quiet.
That’s when my heart listens.
When You Really Saw Me
There was magic in the moment you saw me.
Not just the woman in front of you,
but the girl inside—
playful, innocent, hopeful.
Needing comfort. Wanting to be protected.
And you… took care of her.
The Boy in You Brought Out the Joy in Me
You’re a child too, I know that.
And when you let yourself play,
I find the courage to play, too.
You made me laugh—
the kind of laughter that makes your heart sore after,
because it’s been holding so much for so long.
Thank you for that.
I Don’t Have to Pretend
Around you, I don’t have to pretend.
I can be me.
Still, I love putting on lip gloss, colouring my cheeks,
just so you see the woman beside you.
But really?
Your smile is all I need.
It adds more sparkle to my eyes than any beauty product ever could.
Still Here, Still Yours
I know life gets busy.
And you get tired.
But I’m still here.
Blowing bubbles.
Chasing butterflies.
Waiting by the swing in Neverland
until you’re ready to fly again.
Take care, and soar high.
And So We Stay
The past may shape us.
The future may call us.
But it’s this—the present—
that I want to hold on to.
Let’s not rush it.
Let’s not rewind it.
Let’s just live it.
Together.
